Summer Internships

The application deadline for our Summer 2013 program has passed. Applicants who are selected for an interview can expect to hear from us by the end of April.

In 2013, we are placing summer interns at multiple locations, including SRF's own Research Center in Mountain View, CA; the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC; and SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.

Our summer internship program is for undergraduates (students working towards a Bachelor’s degree) and students who finished their undergraduate work last year (Class of 2012) and haven't started graduate work. Interns in our program can expect to do scientific research almost full-time, using a variety of techniques in the biosciences. These might include PCR, western blotting, gel electrophoresis, subcloning, transforming and transfecting cells, cell culturing, and the like. The work interns do will be directly related to regenerative medicine or the biology of aging. Students will also get to practice their presentation skills: at the end of the internship period, each will create and present a poster on the work they’ve done.
